Towards West Hampstead from Finchley Road

This was a very common view for me in 1999, looking down the supermarket slip road at the O2 Centre from the Finchley road. It must have been quite early in the morning when I took this as the car park is virtually empty. You did get to see some nice wide skies in this little dip in the city skyline.

Delissa Needham Dexter Walter Womersley

Delissa, Producer of “Unzipped” at Rapido, Notting Hill

This is Delissa Needham and her dog who sometimes came into the office and slept under her desk. Delissa produced the documentary about scandalous toffs and royals that I was working on as an archive researcher. She told some good stories about being a bunny girl in her younger days, and when the production was over she gave me a bottle of Penhaligons perfume.

Dandelion in the Bath, 471a Finchley Road

Dandelion was the James Dean of the cat family at Finchley road. He was wily, moody and liked to go off on his own. He also liked to get into the bath occasionally. For more photos of cats in basins check out the cats in sinks website.

Debbie Young, Mark Stevens Dog on the loose in the back garden, West Hampstead

Debbie Young and Mark, The alley at 471a Finchley Road

Another picture of Debbie, this time with her boyfriend Mark Stevens. Debbie and Mark always wanted to live in a converted church or similar gothic building, and now I believe they do. I love this photo of Debbie as she looks very radiant, possibly because we’d just all enjoyed a big Thai meal and lots of beer.

Degraded Statue, Bristol

Just down the road from where John was living in Bristol was this statue. As this was Sunday morning I can only assume that a few students the night before had got up to some drunken japes and managed to get the milk crate onto the soldiers head. It was attracting a bit of attention from passers by, including a couple who like me, seemed to have their cameras handy.

Royal Crescent, Bristol David Robb, UCLH

Royal Crescent, Bristol

Around this time my brother John was doing a computer course at Bristol and living down there so I went to visit him one weekend along with my parents and RT. I’d never been to Bristol before and thought it was great, especially the big high bridge and this beautiful sweep of buildings.
