Canadian Scouts on Oxford Street

I enjoyed taking a snap of these guys who really seemed drawn to the display of bargain CDs in the Virgin megastore. It was quite early in the morning and the shop wasn't yet open, I guess the scouts were waiting to get in there and blow some cash on a few bargains. I think I liked the contrast between their outdoors, self-sufficient, rugged appearance, and their obvious lusting after movies and music. Also their legs I remember liking the look of their legs.

Another good reason to hate the banks on April the 1st.

Raymond’s Review Bar there in the distance. That’s still there, though Raymond himself has gone now.

Today he weighed 2250 grammes (that's 4lb and 13oz in old money).

Bikes near Carnaby Street

Motorbikes and mopeds parked in one of the little streets near Carnaby Street. This is still one of my favourite bits of London.

‘Unzipped” offices, Rapido TV. 14-16 Great Pulteney Street

This was where we worked at Rapido. We all had brand new Imac computers that were the latest design at the time. I used to enjoy getting into the office first every morning, drinking my cappuccino, and listening to Blur’s Beetlebum, on the computer’s CD player, before reading the first faxes of the day.

David Bradbury, Tooting Dexter Robb, bathtime

Dave Bradbury’s flat, Tooting

I didn’t like Dave’s flat in Tooting. It was on the ground floor and had a bathroom out the back through the kitchen with no bath only a shower. He did decorate it in an unusual way though, and it was always fun going round there.

London Fire brigade in Attendance

As a commuter using the London Underground a lot, seeing the fire service around the tube was a common occurrence back in 1999, I’m not sure it still is quite so much these days, despite the drama and tragedy of 07/07 bombings in 2005. Maybe I just don’t notice them so much anymore.
