Jarvis Cocker lookalike

This is Dave showing me one of his moves. He’s wearing a favourite top of his and his glasses. A year after this photo was taken I went with him to have his eyes lasered so that he could have perfect 20:20 vision. This year, the week our son was born, he went out and got new glasses. I think he missed the old ones.

Balconies, Holborn Dexter Robb

Balconies, walking down Holborn

I love this view of flowers on the balconies of these flats. They’re still a great floral display today, or at least they were the last time I peeped at them through the alley way that connects this block to Holborn. I was walking back from that bit of london near Tower Bridge after taking back some still photographs that I had borrowed from a picture library for the Unzipped documentary. It was the last week of my contract so I felt okay with effectively taking the afternoon off for a long London walk when I could have easily ordered a bike to return them.

No idea what I was doing on Edgeware road on this particular, gloomy June day.

Gay Dad, Soho Square David Robb, Laura Womersley

Free gig in Soho Square

Gay Dad were one of those bands who were hugely hyped by their record label, but to be honest, never really came to all that much. There was loads of guerilla promotion of them around Soho in the run-up to this gig.

Coronet Cinema at Notting Hill (Just after Richard Curtis walked by)

Well you’ll have to take my 1999 word for it but just before this picture was taken the director of Notting Hill himself, Richard Curtis, had just walked past the Notting Hill cinema that featured significantly in his 1999 film Notting Hill. Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough on the draw getting my camera out and capturing the moment. I nthe foreground, Paula, Dave Bradbury and Rachel.

Paula Wolff, Maggie Womersley, Rachel, Dave’s party Henrik and Anna, West Hampstead

Paula, MW and Rachel after Dave’s party

I can’t remember Dave’s party at all. But I do remember eating those chips – they were great! They came from a takeaway place on the Finchley Road, the kind of place that I was blind to most of the time, until coming back from somewhere late at night, with a booze-enduced hunger in my belly – like this night no doubt.

Paul Cziok and Debbie Young, Blue Peter Moment

I can’t remember what the relevance was of this picture of Richard Bacon. I know that Paul was very fond of it, and that Richard Bacon was featured on TV: Unzipped.
