Bus ride home, after the pub
Hmm.. I can’t think why this picture is so out of focus except for the clue in the caption I gave it. Ten years on and I have no idea which bus, where it was going or where I’d been.

471a Finchley Road
Another messy shot of my bedroom. It wasn't quite as purple as this in real life….or was it?

Shops at the top of Finchley Road
Not a particularly inspiring shot this one, though the pink hyacinths in the chimney pot look unseasonally in bloom.

The Star, Steyning
This is one of four pubs in Steyning and always did a stonking good lunch for the money. One of the most sought after tables was the one depicted in this picture, a cosy two-seater by the window…I don’t think I realised until I came to take this picture that the legend depicted in the beams above the table said ‘Lover’s Nook’. When I did though, it seemed fairly incongruous with the rather melancholy chap sitting on his own underneath it. Unfortunately the photo was such a success with people that I removed it from the album to make reproductions and now it has disappeared…

Pride Carnival, Brighton
Gay Pride in Brighton, and this man’s silver pants are a sight to behold whichever side you bat for. A weekend in Sussex was never complete without a shopping trip into Brighton for me, and on this particular Saturday we got even more Brighton for our money than usual.

Matthew Womersley, Steyning
This is my brother Matthew, making himself comfortable in an inflatable chair. Matt had been getting a few tummy aches and problems with his digestion this year but hadn’t thought too much about it until someone finally persuaded him he should go to the doctor. They took the problem a bit more seriously and referred him to a specialist who carried out a colonoscopy on him and discovered that he had some blockages and would need surgery to investigate whether they were going to be a serious problem or not.
